E CITY's mission is to empower urban youth to be responsible for their own economic future.  We do this by teaching and modeling entrepreneurship and life skills.

Become an E CITY Teacher

Since 2002, E CITY has taught more than 91 programs and has seen almost 900 students create business plans for their own small business ventures. If you have a passion for working with urban youth and an appreciation for the benefits of an entrepreneurship education, becoming a Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher (CET) may be for you.

Listed below are the characteristics that a CET should possess. If you share these qualities and you want to contribute to our mission while engaging in a rewarding experience, please contact our Assistant Program Director for details: 
 

Characteristics of a High Quality Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher

  • Appreciation for and understanding of entrepreneurship
  • Understanding of basic business math
  • Enthusiasm for relating to and engaging urban youth
  • Ability to exhibit entrepreneurial traits through taking initiative, seeking support as needed, and willingness to go beyond curriculum checklist
  • Embrace NFTE curriculum and E CITY philosophy
  • Ability to incorporate experiential, hands-on, interactive activities in lesson plans
  • Ability to assist students in connecting curriculum to their everyday life
  • Embrace Positive Youth Development and support students’ development holistically
  • Be committed and persistent
  • Willingness to maintain contact with E CITY and NFTE through attending teacher meetings, program falls, etc.
