2005-2006 School Year

Thanks to the MBNA Foundation, E CITY and JFK have teamed up for their second entrepreneurship education partnership!  Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher, Charmaine Burks, who also teaches full time at JFK, is leading the E CITY program this year.  She is teaching it during the school day.

Join us for their business plan competition on Tuesday, May 23 at 6:00 p.m. at Tri-C Eastern Campus (Building E3, Room 2410).

2004-2005 School Year

E CITY was thrilled with its first partnership with John F. Kennedy High School!   We thank Tanisha Jackson-Long for introducing the E CITY program to Principal Charita Crockrom.  Tanisha, a teacher at JFK, had taught the E CITY program in two other locations, and when she was hired at JFK she decided it was important that the students there have the opportunity for entrepreneurship education, too.  Principal Crockrum gave her blessing immediately and was extremely supportive of Tanisha and the program.  The students met with Tanisha 4 days a week for almost 2.5 hours each day.  Eight students graduated on March 10 with a business plan competition and graduation ceremony

We thank the following volunteer “coaches” who helped students polish their business ideas in preparation for their presentations, and the judges who rated the presentations and gave feedback to the students (all of whom are JFK alumni!):
