Tim O’Brien taught E CITY’s second program at Bolton School this spring. Although CMSD budget constraints limited the building availability to only 45 minutes after school, Tim believed in the value of the E CITY program and decided it was worth the effort to deliver the 70-hour curriculum in small increments through the spring semester. Principal, Branka Vinski, was happy to see the program offered to her students again this year and supported Tim and E CITY’s efforts to make it a success. The students had the opportunity to go on a field trip to the Plain Dealer's Teidman plant

There were 9 students who presented their business plans at an in-class preliminary business plan competition. Six of those businesses were chosen by the class and Mr. O'Brien to present at the final business plan competition, which was hosted by Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation, at Quincy Place. Once again many parents, friends, and business coaches were in attendance |
|
We thank the following volunteer “coaches” from the Cleveland business community, who helped students polish their business ideas in preparation for their presentations, and the volunteer judges who rated the presentations and gave feedback to the students: |

E CITY, in partnership with Bolton offered its entrepreneurship program to eight seventh and eighth grade students. The program, sponsored by Bank One, culminated in a business competition on May 20, 2004. Tim O’Brien, a math teacher at Bolton, and a NFTE CET, was excited about the opportunity to show the students that they could become successful entrepreneurs. Branka Vinski, the principal at Bolton, looks forward to a lasting partnership with Bolton and E CITY. |
