E City summer programs great success!
? ? BizCamp at Tri-C Metro Campus July 7-18
? ? The business plan competition was held on July 18.? Twenty students completed and presented business plans for their own businesses.? Seven young entrepreneurs, the finalists, competed for $300 in prize money.? Dan T. Moore, the "foreman" of the judges announced the three winners.? They are:

First place:? Crystal Ramos, $150

Second place: Mandela Abdullah, $100

Third place: Chris Ivory, $50

? ? The E City Washington Park Horticulture Program met from June 23 -July 25, sponsored by the Cleveland Municipal School District, Barbara Byrd-Bennett, CEO.

? ? ? The business plan competition was held on July 25 at Tri-C metro campus.? Mr. David Eichorn and Mrs. Tanisha Jackson-Long were the excellent teachers who worked with over thirteen young entrepreneurs from the city of Cleveland in this program.? The five finalists presented their business plans to a panel of judges from the community.? The winners of the competition were:

First place: Sylvia Haynes, $150.

Second place: Shaquilia Harris, $100.

Third place: Martrice Townsend, $50.

? ? YO! Cleveland (540 E. 105th Street) July 1-July 31
? ? ? The second YO! Cleveland, E City business plan competition will be held on Thursday, July 31 starting at 3 pm at YO! Cleveland.? The community is invited to witness and celebrate this event.? Peg Zitzner is the teacher.

Starting in September, E City will begin launching nine new NFTE classes all over the greater Cleveland area.? Here's what's happening!

E City is an Ohio 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation established
for the following purpose:

?? "To find and show at-risk youth with promise a way to achieve success through learning and
experiencing entrepreneurship."

E City will help break the tragic cycle of poverty in Cleveland, one young entrepreneur at a time. It is the Cleveland licensee of The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) (pronounced "Nifty"). NFTE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1987 by Steve Mariotti in New York City.
